The sentencing of a teen whose thuggish behaviour sparked the violence that led to the murder of 21-year-old Billy Dove has been adjourned.

Ben Sears, 18, was due to be sentenced for affray on Tuesday after the case was delayed so that an assessment could determine if he is suitable for anger management treatment.

But this week the judge put off the case until Friday, August 31.

St Albans Crown Court Judge Stephen Gullick had earlier ordered that Sears, of Belsize Road, Hemel Hempstead, should be seen by experts after hearing that the teenager struggles to control his temper.

Trainee mechanic Billy, from Hemel Hempstead, was stabbed to death in the town centre on November 5 last year.

Three others have already been sentenced in connection with his death, including 17-year-old Darren McGrath who was jailed for a minimum of 14 years for murder.
