More than 100 workers have been made redundant at the Hemel Hempstead branch of a national drinks firm that has gone bust.

Waverley TBS Ltd, which has a large distribution warehouse in Cherry Tree Lane, went into administration last Tuesday.

On Monday administration firm Deloitte announced that a majority of the company’s staff would be being made redundant.

This included 105 members of staff in Hemel Hempstead.

A further 21 employees will keep their jobs for the time being.

Administrator Daniel Butters from Deloitte said: “Regrettably, despite our continued efforts, we have been unable to identify a suitable buyer for the business.

“Unfortunately, it has been necessary to make 685 redundancies at Waverley’s sites across the UK. We will retain a core team of 97 employees to assist us in realising value from the company’s assets.”

Best Solicitors LLP, which has an office in Breakspear Park, Hemel Hempstead, is currently advising members of staff that they are eligible to make a tribunal claim for up to 90 days’ gross pay.

Partner Luke Hutchings said: “Where 20 or more employees are dismissed at once, stringent and lengthy consultation procedures must be followed, which did not occur in this case. Any of the dismissed employees can make a claim.
