A multi-tasking model got to see her fashion designs on the catwalk.
Hemel Hempstead’s Georgie-May Tearle, who promotes herself as an author, model, actress, blogger and singer, got to showcase her Trashcan Treasures Collection at Liverpool Fashion Week this month.
The collection’s tag-line was The Art of the Discarded with a range of garments sourced from recycled materials including newspapers, carrier bags, second hand clothing and even tea bags.
Georgie-May, a former Miss Herts contestant, said: “The high point of the show came as Miss Liverpool 2012 took to the catwalk in the Pret-Tea outfit – a coat and hat made entirely from tea-bags.
“The outfit was designed to highlight the fact that tea-bags make up the largest form of food waste in the UK, with more than 370,000 tonnes of the recyclable items going to waste every year.”
