There’s another morning of delays in store for commuters with the closure
of the northbound carriageway of the A414 between the A405 and its junction with the M1 due to the continuing fire at the nearby wood recycling plant.
The road had been closed since Sunday but was finally reopened to traffic in both directions late on Tuesday.
But now but the northbound carriageway has had to be closed again for safety reasons, although the southbound carriageway remains open.
Clearly signed diversions are in place. Traffic permitted to use motorways is advised to use the nearby M1 and the A405.
Non-motorway traffic is being diverted via the A414 Breakspear Way and Two Waters Way, the A41, and the A405.
Road users affected by the diversion, particularly non-motorway traffic, are advised to plan ahead and to leave plenty of extra time for their journeys.
