Festive spirit and fun will light up Tring

More than 10,000 people expected to attend Christmas festival on Friday when the Christmas lights will be switched on.

There will be plenty to buy, see and do, leading up to the main event, such as music and dance entertainment at St Peter and St Paul Church between 6.30pm and 9pm.

At High Street Baptist Church, people will be able to be photographed dressed in fancy dress for a nativity scene.

Budding stars from Tring Park School, Challis School of Dance and Rock Chorus are among the lineup for The Akeman stage in Church Square.

There will be more live music in Dolphin Square and children can meet Father Christmas in Victoria Hall.

A range of stalls will be at hand for people wanting to by gifts and for those who want to think about loved-ones who have passed away they will be able to hang a star on the tree of remembrance.

The fun will be topped off with the switch on by Tring mayor councillor Nick Hollinghurst, Dick Whitington from the Court Theatre’s pantomime and Bishop wood School pupil Sky Stephensen, who won the design-a-light competition.
