A pair of lovebirds have decided that they will be driven to the church where they will marry in military vehicles.
Tom Belcher, 21, first came up with the idea after proposing to Lorna Towens-Grubb, 22, when boss Terry Lingard, 78, showed him his collection of war machines.
Terry keeps the vehicles – including a Bedford MW van, of the type used in the Second World War – alongside the cars Tom works on as mechanic at T. A. Lingard Motors in Billet Lane, Berkhamsted
Tom said: “It all started off as a joke. I thought it would be funny to wind her up about it, then she decided it would be a good idea.
“It’s not every day you see people using vehicles like that to get married in. We will definitely not forget it.”
The pair will marry in Long Marston Church on Saturday, September 28, next year.
