Women who have had breast surgery will soon be able to get their hands on a new type of post-op bra designed by a lingerie shop owner to fight infection and avoid pain.
Since appearing on the front page of The Gazette with her hospital bra invention, Danielle Dawson of Gorgeous in Tring has had scores of people enquiring about the product.
New You magazine tweeted that it loved her cause and a string of businesses have been in touch.
The bra uses naturally antibacterial bamboo fibres on the parts that touch the skin, shoulder fastenings and shock absorber pads to help prevent infection and avoid discomfort.
Danielle said: “Medical Supermarket want to sell the bra on their website, which is great because they told me it attracts 40,000 doctors a year.
“And rather than the 17,000 initially quoted, the factory has agreed to do a small run for £6,000 so I’m hoping to have bras in stock by March and will take pre-orders in January through my website www.hospitalbra.com.”
