Herts County Council has maintained its standing as one of the nation’s leading gay-friendly employers in the latest Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.
The council is one of only 18 local authorities to make the list, and has improved its ranking to 53 in the annual Top 100 index.
Councillor Derrick Ashley, cabinet member for equality and diversity, said: “Our improved position in the index acknowledges the hard work the county council puts into its equality policies.”
Employers who made the list were assessed on their employee policies, staff engagement, learning and development support and external and community engagement.
