A dance teacher has bagged a part in a new hard-hitting film about domestic violence.

Former performing arts student Charlotte White, who runs Starz Dance Academy in Apsley, plays the part of a girl who gets chatted up by women-beater James in the movie called The Boyfriend.

“I’m on screen for about 15 to 20 minutes. I have about five lines,” said Charlotte, 22, of Bennetts End, Hemel Hempstead.

“It’s just something that popped up but I really liked it so if anything else popped up I would be happy to do it.”

The low-budget production, filmed in Herts, London and Essex, will premier at Westfield Shopping Centre’s Vue Cinema on Monday, February 25 at 6.30pm.

It’s makers – 18 year old director Charly Mae Nelson and script writer Jay Cosme, 21 – are asking for donations in return for tickets to see the flick. The funds raised will be spent on creating a follow-up film called The Girlfriend.
