Hemel Hempstead runner Callum Morris has secured a place in April’s London Marathon and is urging other runners to join him in supporting the NSPCC’s services.

Callum, 20, is a student studying History and Politics at Nottingham Trent University. He said: “An extremely close family friend of ours passed away suddenly, coming up to two years ago. He was a patron for the NSPCC and did a lot of fundraising work for the company and therefore I am running in memory for him in aid of NSPCC.

“The work of the NSPCC and charities in general is imperative to assist those who are less fortunate. Without such support many people will severely suffer, especially those of a much younger age, who have the inability to communicate their problems.”

Any runners who have a place in the London Marathon and would like to find out more about running for the NSPCC, should call the events team on 0844 892 1119 or email marathon@nspcc.org.uk or visit www.nspcc.org.uk/LondonMarathon
