Children who live in or go to school in Hemel Hempstead’s Grovehill area are being invited to enter an art competition.
It is being run by the Grovehill Future Project – a group made up of householders dedicated to improving the area for future generations.
Schools in the ward – Haywood, Maple Grove, Aycliffe Drive and Astley Cooper – have been invited to take part.
Youngsters are tasked with creating an artwork based on what they would like Grovehill to look like in the future.
Maggie Kane from the group said: “This is about children’s visions of Grovehill and what it should look like because they are going to be the people that are going to be living here.”
There are four age categories - up to eight, nine to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 18.
Application forms can be picked up from the chemist in Henry Wells Square and entries should be handed in to the Grovehill Community Centre by 6pm on Friday, March 15.
