FILM buffs will celebrate the centenary of Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s trip to the South Pole by showing a recently restored 1924 movie.
The Great White Silence will be shown by the Berkhamsted Film Society at 8pm on Monday and Tuesday.
Berkhamsted’s branch of the British Film Institute restored and re-released it last year.
It documents part of the Terra Nova Expedition. A team of five reached the South Pole on January 17, 1912, but never returned.
