The search is on to find a mature black actor willing to bare all in an October production of The Full Monty.

Tring Festival Company is struggling to find the right actor – who needs to have a strong singing voice – to play the part of Horse in the raunchy show at the Court Theatre.

Director George Riddell said: “We need an Afro-Caribbean or black gentleman because the character’s main song is called Big Black Man.

The character of Horse, memorably played by actor Paul Barber in the 1997 film, is described as an old groover, despite his dodgy hip.

The chosen actor will be expected to get completely nude for the role, but George was quick to reassure bashful characters: “Yes, our guys do go all the way, but nothing is ever seen.”

Chosen performers will have to commit to Sunday evening rehearsals begin at the end of April.

Those interested in auditioning for the role can contact George on 07958 718922.
