Fastest finish yet for marathon mad Matt

A man who is in the middle of attempting to run 30 marathons in 30 days got his fastest finishing time yet in the Brighton Marathon.

Boss of Framework Scaffolding Contractors Matthew Loddy, 47, did Sunday’s course in 2h 59m 47s, coming 66th out of more than 9,000 competitors.

The Berkhamsted businessman, who lives in Watford Road, Kings Langley, said: “It was fantastic. It was a brilliant experience – a great day. The weather was perfect and the sun came out at the end.”

He expressed his condolences to the family of a 23-year-old runner who collapsed and later died of a cardiac arrest during the Brighton Marathon.

Matthew hopes to beat his time in this Sunday’s London Marathon, his last marathon of the 30. He is running for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Donate at www.frameworkfoundation.co.uk or text RUN30 to 70300 to give £3.
