A Hemel Hempstead man has been charged with causing a public nuisance after police were forced to close part of the M1 and A41 in Watford.
Dayle Smith, 25, was charged after he was arrested by the over bridge on the M1 near Elton Way at around 8.10pm on Thursday.
Police were called to reports of a man on the bridge at around 7.15pm and closed the M1 in both directions between J4 and J5 as well as part of the A41.
Smith, of Bingham Close – who is believed to have been threatening to jump from the bridge – was talked down by police after 45-minute negotiation, before being arrested.
He has been bailed to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on April 30.
