A woman has told of heartbreak after her late grandmother’s ring was snatched during a raid at a jewellery shop.
Tracey Thomas had put the antique rose gold signet ring in for re-sizing when a stun gun-wielding crook struck at Boxmoor’s Daisy Chain.
She said: “I am absolutely devastated.
“I have been trawling eBay every day looking for it.”
Her 96-year-old grandmother passed away in January. The ring was always worn by Doris Easeman and Tracey, who lives in Stoke Mandeville, was planning to keep it close to her heart by wearing it herself.
“I don’t care who has got it. I just want it back because it has sentimental value,” said Tracey.
She had given the ring to a jewellers in Aylesbury who had sent it to the Hemel Hempstead business for the adjustment. A man entered the St John’s Road jewellers on the morning of Tuesday, April 16 and took jewellery before making off on a bicycle.
