A fresh bid for a new medical centre in Highfield has been submitted to planning chiefs.
The proposed base in Cambrian Way would replace the doctors’ surgery in Jupiter Drive, Hemel Hempstead.
But the initial application was refused by Dacorum Borough Council’s development control committee, which said the design was out of character, there were not enough parking spaces and planned extract vents would impact on neighbours.
Under the new application adjustments have been made to the building height, roof profile, vents and the materials used have been changed to make it more in keeping with the area. However, the number of parking spaces remains at 16, although the findings of a patient survey show many will walk to the centre and a lease has been agreed with the borough council to secure eight parking spaces at Highfield Community Centre.
