A husband-and-wife are retiring after serving to the people of Tring for the past 29 years.
Gurinder Ahluwalia, 54, and husband Hardib, 60, will work their last day at Paul Food Stores in Christchurch Road, tomorrow. They have sold the small shop, and rang the Gazette to publicly thank all of their customers.
Gurinder said: “We just want to say thanks to our customers for their cooperation and they have been really good and we enjoyed every minute we spent with them.
“It was like a really nice, big family. I have enjoyed every minute of it.”
Gurinder and Hardib have worked at the shop for seven days a week. It had been open from 6am to 6pm until they reduced its opening times to 6am to noon about seven months ago, so that they could have more free time.
