Get on your bike and breathe in some fresh air – that’s the message to Dacorum people this summer.

Sky Rides are taking place on Sundays and are aimed at cyclists of varying levels of ability, from beginners to real enthusiasts.

It’s all part of a programme run by British Cycling and Sky in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council. Each ride is led by a British Cycling trained ride leader, who will provide support and offer tips along the way.

Councillor Neil Harden, said: “These free rides are designed to encourage everyone to rediscover the fun of cycling, and to give people to chance to get out in the fresh air and explore the countryside this summer.”

The events programme kicked off on Sunday and will continue until September 8. To register visit www.goskyride.com

Meanwhile workers on Hemel Hempstead’s giant Maylands Business Park are being encouraged to take part in the Big Herts Cycle Challenge from June 10 to 30.

The challenge is a chance for workmates to get on their bikes and have some fun competing against other workplaces.

Maylands on the Move is holding a cycling extravaganza on Wednesday, June 19, at Hemel One, in Boundary Way. Visit www.maylandsonthemove.co.uk
