A slimming group took on the battle of the bulge in a sponsored weight loss challenge and instead gained different types of pounds for charity.
Members of the Rant Meadow Slimming World group in Leverstock Green challenged themselves to see how much weight they could lose in six weeks – and persuaded family and friends to sponsor them.
Members lost 2st 2lb between them and managed to collect £500 for the Hospice of St Francis in Northchurch.
Group consultant Tina Barnes, who lives in Bennetts End, said: “It’s a lovely group and we really support each other. We do a lot of charity fundraising and we ask people to nominate their chosen charity.
“The hospice has helped a lot of people close to us.”
