People are being asked to steer clear of Dacorum Borough Council’s landmark Civic Centre this morning in the wake of an overnight electrical blaze in the landmark Marlowes building.
The council is asking people to avoid visiting the building today while staff work to assess the damage to IT systems.
A spokesman warned that there is likely to be some disruption to services.
Customers are asked to use the council’s website for enquiries, check facebook and twitter for updates, or to telephone 01442 228000. {http://www.dacorum.gov.uk/|Click here to visit the website}
Staff who work in the main part of the building can get in as normal but those based in Unit B are being asked to work from home where possible.
