The man in charge of fighting crime across the borough has thanked the community for its ‘patience and tolerance’ when EDL supporters descended on Hemel Hempstead.
Det Chief Insp Glen Channer said: “I just want to thank the community of Dacorum for their patience and their tolerance during that difficult time.”
The controversial party marched through the town as a mark of respect to murdered soldier Lee Rigby and was part of silent processions held across the country.
Det Chief Insp Channer said there were no arrests or incidents during the event on Saturday, June 1.
No additional resources had to be called in on the day and officers from the community team policed the event.
