Dad-of-two Paul Kirk will be donning a blonde wig for the third year running to join the Midnight Walk in memory of his wife Sue.

The 60 year old from Woodhall Farm has raised more than £700 for the Hospice of St Francis by parading in pink for the sponsored night-time walk and after this month’s event he hopes to bring his fundraising total to more than £1,000.

Sue was just 52 when she died in September 2011. Paul said: “Until you’re in that situation, you just don’t realise what’s involved.

“The hospice is a very special place and doing this in Sue’s memory is one of the small ways I feel I can pay them back a little for all the support and friendship we had at a time when we needed it most.”

Paul’s blonde wig has become a tradition after he wore it on his first stride out for the cause. He will be joined by his eldest daughter Laura, 30, and Sue’s best friend Linda Jack from Grovehill for the walk on Saturday, June 29.
