Health chiefs are urging people that have been suffering from an irritating cough for three weeks or more to get it checked out.
Herts County Council is promoting the recently launched NHS lung cancer campaign that has the tag line, Be Clear On Cancer.
Other symptoms that should see sufferers heading to their doctor include coughing up blood, breathlessness, feeling tired more than usual for some time, losing weight for no obvious reason, or an ache or pain in the chest or shoulder that has lasted for some time.
