Plans to rename New Lodge after 54 homes are built in the street have been rejected by political leaders.
Developer Henry Homes Berkhamsted has suggested it be rechristened Arundel Gardens, Hastings Gate or Warwick Place.
But chairman of Berkhamsted Town Council’s planning committee Laurence Handy said at a recent meeting: “I can’t personally see the logic of some of the names put forward.”
The committee agreed to reject the suggested names, and instead voted that the public and societies in the area should suggest names with ‘more local historical significance’.
The committee will consider the matter again at its next meeting on Monday, July 29.
