A new project to provide more parking in Dacorum will be launched with a community tea and cake event.
Ritcroft Street in Hemel Hempstead will be the first of 20 areas to have its grass verges hardened to provide new parking spots.
From 11am to 1pm this Saturday, those living in the road will be able to meet deputy mayor of Dacorum Allan Lawson, who will officially open the 26 new spaces.
Children can also have their face painted for free by 13 to 19-year-olds who were taught in another Dacorum Borough Council-run project – see the slideshow for pictures.
The work to harden verges in all 20 areas set aside for the scheme will be completed by December this year.
