It’s the perfect time for tenants considering buying their council home – as they can now receive a discount of up to £75,000.
Dacorum Borough Council gave advice about the Right to Buy scheme, explained the process and handed out information packs to those who attended the meeting at Hemel Hempstead’s Civic Centre.
Those who have lived as public sector tenants for more than five years can apply to buy their home – and the longer they’ve lived there, the bigger the discount.
The council revealed that it sold more than 200 homes last year, and for each home sold it is allowed to build a new one.
