A family fun day in aid of anti-knife crime charity Billy’s Wish will be held at a Kings Langley pub on Saturday.

From noon to 9pm, the Rose and Crown on the village High Street will host live music, a beer tent, barbecue, children’s games, a bouncy castle and a raffle.

The pub team, including staff member Steven Hulme, are hoping to raise £1,500 for the charity set up in memory of Hemel Hempstead murder victim Billy Dove, who died in November 2011 after being stabbed in the town centre.

Steven, 23, said: “I knew Billy from going out and about, as I’m the same age as him.”

“This is the second event like this that the pub has done and I’ve got more involved this year. I chose the charity myself.”
