A planning inspector’s report into the Core Strategy for housing development in Hemel Hempstead has been received by Dacorum Borough Council.
The report, which considered building proposals including the controversial LA3 development of 900 homes on Green Belt land between Pouchen End Lane and Chaulden, found the strategy ‘sound’.
The inspector wrote: “There is no substantive evidence that would lead me to conclude the proposed development cannot be satisfactorily assimilated into the town.”
Before the report was published, a petition opposing LA3 signed by 148 neighbours to the site was sent to Dacorum Borough Council and MP for Hemel Hempstead Mike Penning.
Mark Gaynor, corporate director for housing and regeneration at the council, said: “We have added all of these signatories onto our database and will make sure that we tell them about any public consultation regarding the site.”
