A Hemel Hempstead firm has applied for planning permission to build a huge new HQ and data centre in Maylands business park.
Gyron Internet wants to bring together its sites in Boundary Way and Maylands Avenue and take up the entire 3.78 hectare Campus business park site off Spring Way.
Old buildings on the site are have been demolished.
Gyron Internet is one of the town’s biggest success stories, providing the electronic storage space for internet data. Its clients include Spotify.
The application was welcomed by Andy Cook, chairman of the Maylands Partnership, who said it was just the kind of development the area needed.
The Gazette understands some 600 people could be based there, with a number of new posts. The application lodged with Dacorum Borough Council mentions a total of 360 car parking spaces on site.
