A pedestrian was killed on the main road through a sleepy rural village on Saturday night.

Emergency service workers rushed out to help the man in his forties after a call to the A416 Chesham Road through Ashley Green just after 10.10pm on Saturday.

He was treated at the scene, but died from his injuries. Police say he was in collision with a white Ford Kuga sports utility vehicle.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and police say the driver of the Ford is assisting them with their investigation.

Investigating officer PC Steve Lane, of the Amersham-based roads policing department, would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle just before the collision.

Anyone with any information that could help the Thames Valley Police investigation should phone PC Lane on 101, quoting URN 1623 of 21/09/13.

Alternatively, you can give the information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
