THE axe has fallen on day care services at a hospice that is facing tough financial times.
Berkhamsted’s Hospice of St Francis has come to the end of its consultation on plans to scrap the service under cost-cutting measures.
The day hospice, which runs twice a week, providing counselling, advice, support and complementary therapy along with medical care, will shut its doors in January.
