The Hemel Hempstead Lions Club is encouraging people to come and visit them at their town centre bookshop on Saturday.
Club members will be holding four half hour information sessions throughout the day where visitors can ask questions about the work of the group.
The Hemel Hempstead branch has recently joined other clubs across the UK and Ireland in pledging £200,000 in aid to help those in the Philippines following the devastation brought by Typhoon Haiyan.
President Terry Allen said: “Lions clubs provide a global network that is able to give immediate practical and financial support when disaster strikes.”
The money will be used to send 1,000 Lifesaver water filtration systems to the stricken Asian country, which will provide up to 20 million litres of clean water for drinking and medical purposes.
It will help prevent diseases caused by drinking dirty water from claiming the lives of more people.
Terry said: “Local fundraising in Hemel Hempstead is going to help provide the most basic of human needs – clean drinking water.”
The popular bookshop can be found inside the Marlowes Shopping Centre.
Book donations will also be gratefully received.
