An 17-year-old motorcyclist from Abbots Langley is in a critical condition after a road collision in the village last night.
The teen’s white Roadster 125 bike collided with a blue Vauxhall Vectra as it turned right into College Road from the junction with Mallard Road at around 9.20pm, causing roads to be closed until almost 1am.
The biker was travelling behind another motorcycle at the time. The driver of the Vauxhall – a 25-year-old man from Luton – was unhurt in the incident.
An ambulance and a volunteer doctor from the British Association for Immediate Care (BASICS) charity were sent to the scene.
The teenager suffered serious injuries and was initially taken to Watford General Hospital but was transferred to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the two motorbikes before it occurred to contact PC Gareth Rees on 101.
