Dacorum Borough Council members stood in silence to mark the deaths of three former councillors at a full meeting on Wednesday.
Respects were paid to Phyllis Courtnage and Peter Benton, who had both served as aldermen.
Fellow former alderman Bertram Barrett – who was mayor of the borough from 1966 to 1967 – was also honoured, following his death aged 93 in October.
Bert had moved from the area to Kent in 2007, following the death of his wife Win. He is survived by his daughter, son-in-law, two granddaughters and three great granddaughters.
