A family of six from Boxmoor won the chance to be one of 14 tasting teams for restaurant chain Table Table.
The Hardings, of Bargrove Avenue, were picked from thousands of entries through the company’s campaign and competition – fronted by actress Melanie Sykes – which stressed the importance of dining together, and the prize included a year’s worth of meals at their local Table Table restaurant, the nearest of which is in Dunstable.
Dad Damon, mum Theresa and their sons Elliot, 13, Joseph, 10, Oliver, eight, and six-year-old Frederick were invited to spend the day at the Whitbread Skills Academy in Solihull where they were able to learn from top chefs and try their hand at making some of their favourite dishes.
The family were able to see first-hand how the highly-skilled chefs produce the food sold in the restaurants, as well as giving feedback on current dishes and sharing ideas for what else they would like to see on the menu.
Theresa said: “We’ve had a fantastic day. The chefs really know how to get the kids excited about food and they even had a chance to get stuck in with the cooking too.
“We’re so grateful to have been chosen and have definitely taken away some new tips to make our meals exciting.”
