Fire crews responded to two emergency calls relating to flooding in Kings Langley properties today.
The first 999 call came in at 10.58am with reports a basement car park had flooded in the village’s Ovaltine Court, but no assistance from firefighters was required.
Heavy rain and winds of up to 40mph rocked the borough last night, which could have caused the flooding.
Another emergency call at 12.01pm saw firefighters assisting in isolating the water supply of a Rockliffe Avenue home after water coming through a light fitting sparked fears.
Herts County Council spokesman Andrew Dawson said: “Sometimes people call the fire service if they think an incident is more serious than it actually turns out to be, but if in doubt, it always best to call 999 in the case of flooding issues.”
