A final call has been made for people to have their say in the public consultation on the future shape of libraries in Hertfordshire.
Already more than 11,000 people have completed questionnaires to give their views on what sort of library service they would like to see in the future.
Frances Button, County Hall’s cabinet member with responsibility for libraries, said: “We have had a very strong response and we hope more people will take the opportunity to have their say before the consultation closes on December 31.
“While we want to hear from everyone, we particularly want the views of more young people aged 16 to 24 about how they would like to see the service develop in future.
“We have not had as many responses from this age group as others and we are keen to get a broad range of views from all sections of our local communities.”

Copies of the questionnaire can also be completed at any local library in the county.
Herts County Council is developing a new 10 year strategy to ensure it can continue to provide a modern and relevant service.
As well as 10 public meetings covering every district in the county, there has been a programme of drop-in session at all 46 local libraries along with focus groups and the involvement of the Hertfordshire Citizens’ Panel, a cross-section of 1,750 residents.
