A MUM-of-two urgently needs to find a match for a stem cell transplant or she will die from blood cancer.

Gilly Jenkins, 43, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in October last year.

Doctors reassured her that 95 per cent of patients are cured by one six-month course of chemotherapy, which began for Gilly as soon as she was diagnosed.

But she has now had three bouts of the gruelling treatment and doctors now say she will need a stem cell transplant if she is to stand any chance of survival.

She said: “I was shocked and really disappointed. I did not realise the chemo could fail so many times and I could be looking at a really short lifetime.”

Unless she can find someone who is a stem cell match she could be dead within two years.

Now the mum, of Hunters Park, in Berkhamsted, is urging people to sign up to join the Anthony Nolan register at www.anthonynolan.org
