DRIVERS were left queuing at fuel pumps today, with many cars spilling out onto the roads as fears over potential strikes hit home.
Forecourts at Shell, Tesco and Sainsbury’s were saturated with cars, with staff doing their best to organise the situation.
Margaret Vaughan from Grovehill was left queuing out onto the road while waiting for fuel at the Shell garage in Adeyfield Road.
She said: “I’m running out so I’ve got no choice but to fill up now.
“I will be putting more fuel in than usual though.
“Tesco was also manic and so was Sainsbury’s yesterday with a queue going right back to the roundabout.
“Filling up is getting ridiculous.”
A Shell spokesman said: “It is important to bear in mind that we are talking about potential strike action so there is currently no impact on deliveries as a consequence of this potential strike action.”
