A TV chef judged a school’s bake-off competition to create the best cherry clafoutis dessert.
The dish is a favourite of Raymond Blanc, presenter of BBC2’s The Hungry Frenchman, who was in Berkhamsted to visit his new Brasserie Blanc, which opened yesterday.
He also visited Berkhamsted School to judge the Year 9 contest between different houses.
He chatted to the 14 boys and girls, gave them tips, tasted their creations and chose India Bates, from Russell house, and Robert Wells, from Loxwood, as winners. He also spoke to A-level French students, testing their language skills.
