A HALF-DAY business expo next month promises to be a mega showcase for Dacorum’s commercial community.

The Dacorum Business Expo at the Ramada Hemel Hempstead will start with a breakfast briefing from Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning and end with speakers at lunch.

Brad Burton, who set up 4Networking, will be guest speaker at the 7.30am-2.30pm event.

“Nothing has happened like this in Dacorum for a long, long time,” said Damian Cummins, of Events and PR, a joint-organiser of the day.

The other organiser is Debbie Gilbert of Viva Business Networking, the winner of the Gazette’s Local Business Accelerator competition.

Damian added: “We’re trying something completely different.

“We won’t be running seminars, which is what normally happens at these events.

“We’ll be having speakers at breakfast and lunch so stall holders can also benefit from hearing the business advice.”

So far some 20 firms have signed up stalls at the event, which will also include a “speed networking” session where delegates can meet loads of potential contacts.

The expo is being sponsored by Dacorum Borough Council, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Hemel Hempsted print firm uprint, Roar Accounting and the Gazette. Gazette business editor David Tooley will be giving a 10-minute talk on the subject Getting In The Paper.

The main point of the event is to give companies the opportunity to get together and generate business.

Visit http://dacorum.eventbrite.co.uk/ £10 from each stand will go to local charity ReachOut Plus.
