Marsworth reservoir hit by dropping water levels

People across Britain have been making the most of the recent sunny spell – but the unseasonably warm weather isn’t all good news.

The majority of areas in the UK have been issued with drought warnings, with water levels dropping in lakes, rivers and reservoirs.

And there are few places that demonstrate the issue more than the 24-acre reservoir at Marsworth, pictured above.

One of four Tring reservoirs, Marsworth has been hit by the lack of rainfall over recent months, and the water levels are worryingly low.

Earlier this month a number of water companies across the region announced hosepipe bans would come into effect before Easter in a bid to save water and conserve supplies.
