POLICE think the driver of a black van may be able to help them find a hit-and-run driver.

Hemeltoday reported this morning that a woman in her 20s was seriously injured after a car hit her on the pavement of Aycliffe Drive, Grovehill, at 6.25pm on Sunday.

She is now in Watford General Hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.

The silver car did not stop and sped off towards Cambrian Way in Highfield.

Police now have information to suggest that a black van was at the nearby roundabout between the two streets and the Link Road at the time of the collision.

Kevin Deudon, from the Hemel Hempstead Local Crime Unit, said: “With this new information I would re-appeal for witnesses, and in particular, the driver of this black van to contact police.

“This person may be a key witness and have vital information which could greatly assist the investigation.

“I would like to speak to anyone who has information about the collision to contact police.

“If you were driving the silver vehicle described I’d ask you to make contact with police at the earliest opportunity so we can establish what happened.”
