A DAY spa has launched a charitable side to the business by offering its services free of charge to people whose lives have been traumatised by torture, rape, drugs and HIV.
The Goddess Awakening Charity, which is the brainchild of Katie Hill, who runs Totality Day Spa in Tring, is currently being set up and Katie wants to make links with organisations that could benefit from the service.
She said: “We really want to help women who have been through ordeals so we need to make contact with local refuges and also charities.
“A massage can really help when people have been through traumatic events.
“We can offer victims sessions of reiki, aromatherapy and feel good treatments such as manicures.
“The idea also includes offering our services as prizes at charity fundraising events and setting up a fund to support women in different countries as well.”
