A LARGE group of volunteers from a pharmaceutical company spent three days at a riding school for the disabled giving it a spruce up.
Staff from GlaxoSmithKline painted a barn, spruced up toilets and fixed fence posts at Gaddesden Place Riding Centre for the Disabled.
A group of 27 staff members from the company’s Stevenage and Ware centres spent time at the centre at Briden’s Camp, Hemel Hempstead, as part of a company initiative.
Scientist Helena Clarke said: “It went very well and we got a lot more done than we thought.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves even in the rain!
“We would never have been able to achieve so much without the help of local companies.
“In particular I must thank B&Q, Buildbase in Welwyn Garden City, Travis Perkins in Hemel Hempstead, AP Taylor Ltd in Dunstable, Chesham Fencing Supplies, Leewood Skip Hire in Hemel Hempstead and Hire One in St Albans.”
The Red Lion Pub in Water End also provided food on the day.
