FUN by the waterside drew out crowds on Sunday as revellers enjoyed canal boat trips and tried out kayaking.
The Dacorum Grand Water Festival was organised by the Apsley Paper Trail and supported by Dacorum Borough Council, Navigation Estates and Smiths Coffee Company.
Visitors to the Frogmore Mill site in Fourdrinier Way, Hemel Hempstead, and nearby Apsley Lock could get hands on with arts and crafts, enjoy rides along the canal on the Paper Trail’s boat, help decorate vessels for a water pageant parade, get a soaking from the heritage fire brigade, have their faces painted and browse stalls.
Dacourm Mayor Bert Chapman judged the afternoon boat parade with Hilltop being crowned the best decorated boat and Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning was there to enjoy the fun.
