COMMUTERS walking home from Berkhamsted Railway Station were targeted by thugs during early morning street muggings.
The attacks happened in the town’s Castle Street, Lower Kings Road and Manor Street – with two robberies happening within minutes of each other on Thursday, June 7.
In the first attack, at 12.10am, a man was forced to hand over his wallet when robbers punched him in the face as he walked along Castle Street. Just five minutes later in Lower Kings Road, three attackers set upon a man and took his mobile phone.
Then on Friday, in Manor Street at around 1.25am, a man was hit around the head with a stick and kicked on the floor before thieves made off with his phone, wallet and brief case.
> A 15-year-old and 17-year-old from Hemel Hempstead, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and Daniel Bull, 18, of Paddock Way, Hemel Hempstead have all been charged with robbery. They are due to appear at West Herts Magistrates Court on Thursday.
