SPORTS clubs showed off what they have to offer to prospective members during a promotion day at Riverside Shopping Centre.
Among them were the winning teams of the centre’s Community Sports Awards competition, which invited people to vote for what club they wanted to receive a cash bonus. The two groups with the most backing were Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club and Hemel Martial Arts.
The competition, run in partnership with the Gazette, was held to celebrate a summer of sporting fun.
On Saturday – the day before the Olympic torch came to Hemel Hempstead – clubs were invited to set up stands in Riverside to promote themselves. During the event, which included sporting activities, face painting and other fun for shoppers, Riverside boss David Robinson presented the winning clubs with their cheques.
