GRANTS of up to £5,000 are being made available to help Dacorum groups, charities or organisations with capital projects.

The funding, made available through Destination Dacorum, is not available for ongoing or day-to-day costs.

Destination Dacorum is a Dacorum Borough Council Partnership of organisations that work together to make the borough a better place to live, work and enjoy.

Natalie Webb, team leader policy, partnership and innovation at the council said: “Up to £5,000 will be available for each application. This money can be used for any capital project, such as buying or improving land or a building, or purchasing equipment which is needed.

“We want to support and encourage organisations who work in partnership with other local groups to contribute to the economy of the borough and support them when they have a sustainable idea.”

The ideas should also have a lasting effect on the borough. But the council says funds are limited and all the money is likely to be allocated.

Applications have to be in by August 19 and applicants will be notified if they have or haven’t been successful by September 14.

For more information contact Natalie Webb by phoning 01442 228743, emailing natalie.webb@dacorum.gov.uk

Destination Dacorum also has a Facebook page.
